The People's Government of Guangdong Province issued opinions on strengthening basic and applied basic research, which include supporting Guangdong higher educations and research institutions to employ research elites from Hong Kong and Macao and setting up training platform for elite youths. Besides, the Government proposes facilitation in cross border use of scientific research funds and revision of criteria for business visas in Hong Kong and Macao to facilitation Guangdong research personnel travelling to Hong Kong and Macao to strengthen cooperation among Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao elites in the areas of life sciences, environmental sciences and artificial intelligence.
