The General Affairs Office of the Guangzhou Baiyun District People's Government issued the “Implementation Measures on the Point-Based School Admission for the Children of Incoming Residents in Baiyun District, Guangzhou” on 8 May 2019 (“the Measures”). For non-local residents with a valid Guangdong Residence Permit for one year, with a stable job and residence, have made social insurance contributions and are verified under the “Point-based Service Information System for Incoming Guangzhou Residents”, their children may apply for primary 1 or secondary 1 in Baiyun District. Eligible students who are admitted under the point-based scheme may enjoy preferential treatment. The Measures are effective from 8 May 2019 to 31 December 2021.
