The Zhongshan Public Security Bureau issued the “Regulations for Application of Residence Permit for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Residents” (“the Regulations”) on 15 July 2019. According to the Regulations, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan residents living in the Mainland for half a year or more and meet one of the relevant criteria (ie. having stable employment, residence or study) can apply for residence permits at their respective public security bureau with valid identity documents.
