The Finance Bureau of Jiangmen Municipality (“the Bureau”) issued the “Notice on Announcement of the 2021 Jiangmen Basic Medical Insurance (Including Maternity Insurance) Payment Standard” on 19 October 2020. The Bureau announced that during the period from 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2021, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan residents who are persons in flexible employment and have obtained the “Residence Permit for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Residents” can participate in the basic medical insurance scheme. The base payment is RMB3,505. The payment rate is 7.5% (the first and second rates are 3.5% and 4.0% respectively, excluding maternity insurance).
