On 8 November 2022, the General Affairs Office of Guangzhou Municipal People's Government issued the "Specific Measures on Comprehensively Strengthening the Drug Supervision Capacity in Guangzhou Municipality" ("the Measures"). The Measures encourage industrialization of drugs and medical devices from the Hong Kong and Macao in Guangzhou Municipality, provide support in accordance with relevant regulations, and propose to deepen the research and cooperation with the Hong Kong and Macao governments, scientific research institutions in drug quality and standards. In addition, the Measures encourage Guangzhou municipal medical institutions and traditional Chinese medicine enterprises to cooperate with scientific research institutions, colleges and universities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
