On 16 March 2023, the Guangdong Administration for Market Regulation, the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guangdong Province and the Guangdong Federation of Industry and Commerce issued the "3-year Action Plan for Promoting the Standardization of Smart Household Appliances (2023- 2025) in Guangdong Province" ("the Plan"). The main tasks of the Plan are to strengthen the science and technology cooperation among Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, support enterprises, universities and research institutes to strengthen the industry-university-research cooperation and application demonstration research, focus on market demand, and make technological breakthroughs in key components, voice control, intelligent evaluation, and environmental adaptability evaluation. In addition, the Plan proposed to carry out reliability research of intelligent household appliances under various environmental conditions, and formulate safe, reliable and internationally advanced technical standards.
