On 22 March 2023, the People’s Government of Guangzhou Nansha District issued the “Plan for Establishing National Ecological Civilization Demonstration Zone in Nansha District of Guangzhou Municipality (2022-2035)” (“the Plan”). The Plan proposed to construct the largest integrated automobile import and export hub port in South China, carry out preliminary cross-border e-commerce import business of medicine with Macao, expand direct cross-border e-commerce business between Guangdong and Macao. In addition, the Plan aimed to construct nationally leading cross-border e-commerce demonstration base and develop a benchmark for high-quality foreign trade.
