On 11 May 2023, the Department of Civil Affairs of Guangdong Province issued the “Further Playing the Role of the Industry Associations and Chambers of Commerce to Facilitate High-quality Development in the Guangdong Province” (“the Notice”). The Notice specifies that the key tasks are to focus on the active integration into the “Two Zones” and the development of three platforms in Hengqin, Qianhai and Nansha Municipality, support the establishment of social organization cooperation and exchange platforms such as exchange centres, innovation demonstration bases and integrated development centres, and promote the exchanges and cooperation among trade associations and chambers of commerce in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (“GBA”). In addition, the Notice supports Think Tank social organizations of Guangdong Province, Hong Kong and Macao to jointly carry out research activities, promoting the development of a professional training system in the field of social organizations in three regions.
