The Office of Ministry of Education (“the authorities”) issued the “Notice in relation to Doing Well on the Enrolment in Primary and Secondary Schools for 2023” (“the Notice”) on 22 May 2023. The authorities require all regions to ensure a balance between the supply and demand of educational resources, comprehensively grasp the enrolment needs of school-aged youth and children in each jurisdiction. At the same time, all regions should strengthen the secondary school enrolment management, meet the quota of high-quality secondary schools' enrolment, and better promote the high-quality and balanced development of compulsory education.
