On 30 June 2023, the Jiangmen Municipal People's Government issued the “14th Five-Year Plan for Education Development in Jiangmen Municipality” (“the Plan”). The Plan proposed to deepen the education cooperation and development in the Greater Bay Area, promote the connection and cooperation in education among Jiangmen, Hong Kong and Macao, establish a platform for mutual exchange among schools in these three regions, encourage the establishment of sister schools and deepen the education cooperation within Jiangmen, Hong Kong and Macao. The Plan also aimed to strengthen the connection among universities and colleges in Hong Kong, Macao, and the other Pearl River Delta cities to improve the exchanges and cooperation in the field of technology, culture and start-up business.
