On 10 July 2023, the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin issued the “Measures on Supporting the Development of Exhibition Industry in the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin” (“the Measures”). The Measures proposed to provide hotel subsidies at RMB200 for each room per night for holding an international conference that has been accredited by the International Congress and Convention Association (“ICCA”), or that the participants come from more than 5 countries or regions (including Macao, Hong Kong and Taiwan). Conferences hosted by an international organization with more than 200 participants and overseas participants take up more than 20% are eligble to enjoy such subsidy. The total amount of subsidies for each conference shall not exceed RMB800,000. The Measures will be implemented from 1 January 2023 and be valid until 31 December 2025.
