On 28 September 2023, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Guangdong Province issued the “Various Measures for Accelerating the Transformation and Upgrading of Marine and Fishery industry and Promoting the High-quality Development of Modern Marine Ranching” (“the Measures”). The Measures proposed to establish a modern circulation system, particularly including building a distribution centre for aquatic products in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area and enhancing the interactive development with Hong Kong and Macao in respect of cold chain logistics and transport hubs such as ports, airports and railway stations etc.
