The Standing Committee of the Zhuhai Municipal People’s Congress (“the authorities”) issued the “Regulations in relation to Lawyers Practising in the Zhuhai Special Economic Zone” (“the Regulations”) on 7 October 2023. The authorities support Hong Kong law firms, Macao law firms and law firms from Mainland China to establish joint venture law firms in the Zhuhai Municipality and provide guarantee for Hong Kong and Macao lawyers to work in Zhuhai Municipality after passing the lawyer qualification examination in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The Regulations shall be implemented from 1 December 2023.
