On 12 October 2023, the Dongguan Municipal Science and Technology Bureau issued the “Implementation Measures of Major Science and Technology Projects in Dongguan Municipality” (“the Measures”). The Measures proposed the “Jie Bang Gua Shuai” Research and Development (“R&D”) project and specified that participants of the project should be scientific and technological enterprises, innovative enterprise consortiums and institutions of higher learning, scientific research institutions established in or outside Dongguan Municipality (including Hong Kong and Macao). In addition, the participants should have a good scientific research credit record without bad credit record or illegal behaviour in the recent 3 years and have formed a stable team of talents capable of completing research and development tasks. The participants shall not be related party to the project issuer. The Measures proposed to offer a subsidy of up to RMB5 million for each R&D project. The Measures will come into force on 12 October 2023 and will be valid until 30 October 2026.
