The Ministry of Finance (“the authorities”) issued the “Notice in relation to Supporting Accounting Firms to Establish Branch Offices and Conduct Pilot Work in China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone” (“the Notice”) on 19 October 2023. The authorities announced the implementation of integrated management by accounting firms for the branch offices registered in Guangdong Pilot Free Trade Zone. The chief representative of the Pilot Free Trade Zone branch office shall be served concurrently by the chief partner of the head office of the relevant accounting firms, who is empowered to authorise representatives from the firms’ other branch offices in Guangdong to manage the daily operations of the Pilot Free Trade Zone branch office.
