On 23 October 2023, the Supreme People's Court issued the “Opinions on Providing Judicial Services and Safeguards for Nansha District of Guangzhou Municipality and Deepening the Comprehensive Cooperation among Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao” (“the Opinions”). The Opinions proposed to improve the connection with the judicial rules and regulations in Hong Kong and Macao and support Hong Kong and Macao legal practitioners with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area practice certificate to practice in Guangzhou Nansha. In addition, the Opinions support the mechanism for substantive resolution of foreign-related disputes involving Hong Kong and Macao, and support qualified legal service institutions, mediators and lawyers in Hong Kong and Macao to participate in dispute mediation.
