On 30 October 2023, the Development and Reform Commission of Guangdong Province and the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province issued the “Opinions on Accelerating the Innovation and Development of the Hydrogen Energy Industry in Guangdong Province” (“the Opinions”). The Opinions proposed to focus on the database for the hydrogen energy industrial chain, identify a list of target enterprises, strengthen the strategy of attracting investment through investment chains, overseas investors and target-specific investments, and actively introduce high-level innovative enterprises, service agencies and major industrial projects with strong radiant power and driving force. In addition, the Opinions aimed to leverage major economic and trade activity platforms such as the Canton Fair, the China International Import Expo, the China High-Tech Fair, the China Investment Fair for Investment and Trade and the Global Investment Promotion Conference in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, host industrial investment activities and attract high-quality hydrogen energy projects in the Guangdong province.
