On 7 November 2023, the General Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Guangdong Province issued the “Three-Year Action Plan for the Construction of the Digital Greater Bay Area” (“the Plan”). The Plan proposed to optimize full value chain services for market participants, leverage the “Yueshangtong” platform by involving active market participants, promote the integration and cooperation in economic and trade information platforms between Hong Kong and Macao, and provide comprehensive electronic services in areas such as business start-up, financing, taxation, policy implementation etc. In addition, the Plan aimed to optimize the designated webpage for Hong Kong and Macao enterprises on the Guangdong provincial government service website, improve the service functions of self-service machines of “Yuezhizhu”, and explore the provision of standardized services in Hong Kong and Macao.
