The Zhaoqing Municipal Medical Security Bureau, the Ministry of Finance of Zhaoqing Municipality, and the Zhaoqing Municipal Tax Service of the State Taxation Administration (“the authorities”) issued the “Notice in relation to the 2024 Employee Basic Medical Insurance Payment Base (Including Maternity Insurance) in Zhaoqing Municipality” (“the Notice”) on 8 November 2023. The authorities announced that for the period from January to December 2024, the fee base for the Zhaoqing Municipal employee basic medical insurance (including maternity insurance) shall be determined based on 60% to 300% of the average monthly salary of the urban employed personnel in Zhaoqing Municipality in 2022, which means that the lower limit shall be RMB 4,222 and the upper limit shall be RMB 21,111.
