On 13 November 2023, the General Affairs Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province issued the “Various Measures for Further Boosting and Expanding Consumption in Guangdong Province” (“the Measures”). The Measures proposed to develop the exhibition economy, develop Guangzhou and Shenzhen as international exhibition cities, encourage competent exhibition organizers in Guangdong Province to integrate exhibition resources within Hong Kong and Macao, and promote the integrated development of exhibition industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
