The People’s Government of Nansha District of the Guangzhou Municipality (“the authorities”) issued the “Notice in relation to the Education Facility Distribution Planning in Guangzhou Municipal Nansha District (2023 – 2035)” (“the Notice”) on 11 December 2023. The authorities announced to develop Nansha District as an educational hub within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area by improving the quality of education, promoting educational equity, optimizing the educational structure, and establishing high-quality and balanced education system. Meanwhile, enhancing the alignment of educational standards with international practices, creating high-quality public educational resources for students from Hong Kong and Macao. This initiative aims to accelerate the gathering of Hong Kong and Macao youth, promoting Nansha District as new home to live and work in.
