On 16 January 2024, the People's Government of Dongguan Municipality issued the “Implementation Opinions on Accelerating the Promotion of New-type Industrialisation and Constructing the High-quality International City of Science, Technology and Manufacturing" (“the Opinions”). The Opinions propose to precisely align Hong Kong and Macao institutes with science and technology parks for collaborating in technological research, trial production, project incubation and talent training. The Opinions support an annual subsidy of not exceeding RMB 5 million through the establishment of special Dongguan-Hong Kong-Macao cooperative implementation programmes. The Measures are effective from the date of issuance and will be valid for three years.
