On 19 January 2024, the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Congress issued the “Regulations of Guangdong Province on Promoting High-quality Development of Manufacturing Industry” (“the Regulations”). The Regulations proposed to strengthen the convergence of rules and mechanism for the development of the manufacturing industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, enhance the market integration in the Greater Bay Area, optimise the regional functional layout, and promote complementary advantages, collaboration, and joint development of the manufacturing industry. The Regulations will be effective from 1 March 2024.
