On 26 January 2024, the Office of the People’s Government of Dongguan issued the “Implementation Plan for the Construction of a Strong and Quality City in Dongguan” (“the Plan”). The Plan proposes to proactively strengthen the matching of innovative resources with Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao, support the construction of life and health industry base for University Science Park in Greater Bay Area (“GBA”), build a national innovation centre for third-generation semiconductor technology, and greatly develop products such as power electronics, microwave radio-frequency devices, and opto-electronic devices, and thus build a leading third-generation semiconductor industry base in GBA.
