On 8 February 2024, the Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission, the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province and the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guangdong Province issued the “Action Plan for Cultivating and Developing Green and Low-carbon Industrial Clusters in Guangdong Province” (“the Plan”). The Plan proposed to promote the development of a green technology transformation platform, a patent navigation service base and an intellectual property operation center in the Greater Bay Area, promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and accelerate the construction of Hong Kong-Shenzhen-Dongguan, Guangzhou-Foshan and Macao-Zhuhai innovation poles, Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong and Guangzhou-Zhuhai-Macao science and technology innovation corridors. In addition, the Plan proposed to establish and improve a standard system for the green low-carbon industry, guide the participation of all parties in formulating and revising domestic and international standards, and strengthen the convergence and mutual recognition with international, Hong Kong and Macao standards.
