The Ministry of Science and Technology (“the authorities”) issued the “Guidelines of Supporting Technological Innovation Main Tax Preferential Policies in China” (“the Notice”) on 13 March 2024. The authorities announced 50 main tax preferential policies for technological innovation, which include Hong Kong residents working in the Guangzhou Municipal Nansha District would be exempted from individual income tax that exceeds the tax burden in Hong Kong.
