On 14 March 2024, the Shenzhen Industrial and Information Technology Bureau issued the “Implementation Measures for Accelerating the Development of New Quality Productive Forces and Further Promoting Strategic Emerging Industrial Clusters and High-quality Development of Future Industries” (“the Plan”). The Plan proposed to promote high-end development of basic technology such as electroplating, heat treatment, and establish major science and technology infrastructure including brain analysis, brain simulation and the National Supercomputer Shenzhen Centre. In addition, the Plan aimed to accelerate the construction of facilities such as free electron laser and special environmental materials, strengthen the construction of new infrastructure such as the enhanced 5G -A network for the 5th generation mobile communication technology and intelligent computing power and accelerate the large- scale application of industrial Internet and industrial data.
