Notice in relation to Implementing the Interest-Free and Deferred Repayment of the Principal of National Student Loans in 2025

The Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Education, the People’s Bank of China and the National Financial Regulatory Administration (“the authorities”) issued the “Notice in relation to Implementing the Interest-Free and Deferred Repayment of the Principal of National Student Loans in 2025” (“the Notice”) on 27 March 2025. The authorities proposed that starting from 1 January 2025, students who graduate in 2025 or before can be exempted from paying interest on national student loans in 2025, and the repayment of principal on national student loans in 2025 will be deferred for one year.
