The Guangdong Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security (“the authorities”) issued the “Notice in relation to “Regulations for Handling the Basic Pension Insurance for Urban and Rural Residents in Guangdong Province”” (“the Notice”) on 16 June 2025. The authorities proposed that matters related to urban and rural residents’ pension insurance should be handled under the principles of “nearby application, non-discriminatory processing, and local verification”. Insured individuals may choose to submit their application either online or offline. For elderly, seriously ill, or severely disabled insured individuals, staffs should provide home service for them.
