The General Office of the People’s Government of Guangzhou Municipality (“the authorities”) issued the “Notice in relation to Reissuing the Administration Measures on Points-based Household Registration in Guangzhou Municipality” (“the Notice”) on 30 June 2025. The authorities proposed that individuals who have legal and stable employment or entrepreneurial activities in Guangzhou Municipality, are under 45 years of age, have contributed social insurance for at least 4 years, and have accumulated a total household registration score of 150 points are eligible to apply for household registration in Guangzhou Municipality. The Notice is effective until 31 December 2026.
