The Bureau of Science and Technology in Dongguan Municipality (“the authorities”) issued the “Notice in relation to Adjusting the Salary Income Calculation Standards for Foreigners Applying for Work Permits in Dongguan Municipality in 2025” (“the Notice”) on 14 July 2025. The authorities proposed that starting from 1 August 2025, where a foreigner takes salary income as the application condition for Type A work permits in China, the monthly average salary must not be less than RMB52,590. The monthly average salary applicable for Type B work permits application must not be less than RMB35,060.
