The Human Resources and Social Security Department of Guangdong Province and the Department of Finance of Guangdong Province (“the authorities”) issued the “Notice in relation to Adjusting the Basic Pension for Retired Personnel in 2025” (“the Notice”) on 25 July 2025. The authorities proposed that starting from 1 January 2025, the monthly basic pension standard for each retiree will be increased by RMB28. In addition to the fixed adjustment, retirees will receive an additional increase of 0.54% based on their monthly basic pension standard before adjustment. The Notice is applicable to retirees who completed their retirement procedures before 31 December 2024 and are receiving a monthly basic pension.
