The Finance Bureau of Zhuhai Municipality, the Zhuhai Municipal Science and Technology Innovation Bureau, the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau of Zhuhai Municipality and the Zhuhai Tax Service, State Taxation Administration (“the authorities”) issued the “Notice in relation to “Application Guidelines for Financial Subsidies under the Preferential Policies for Individual Income Tax in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in Zhuhai Municipality in 2025” (“the Notice”) on 30 July 2025. The authorities proposed that high-end talents and urgently needed professionals who work in Zhuhai Municipality and have paid individual income tax exceeding 15% of their taxable income within the tax year are eligible to apply for individual income tax subsidies. Such subsidies shall be exempt from individual income tax.
