The Management Centre of Housing Provident Fund of Zhongshan Municipality (“the authorities”) issued the “Notice in relation to ‘Administrative Implementation Rules for the Housing Provident Fund Contributions in Zhongshan Municipality’” (“the Notice”) on 1 August 2025. The authorities proposed that where an enterprise hires or transfers an employee, it must complete the housing provident fund contribution registration for the employee within 30 days of hiring or transferring. The contribution rate for the housing provident fund will be determined by the enterprise and the individual employee, ranging from a minimum of 5% to a maximum of 12%. The Notice is valid for 5 years.
