On 8 August 2025, the Office of the People’s Government of Guangzhou Municipality and four other departments (“the authorities”) issued the “Notice of Issuing Implementation Plan for Implementing Opinions of Financial Support on Deepening the Comprehensive Cooperation among Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Towards the World in Guangzhou Municipal Nansha District” (“the Measures”). The authorities announced the launching of the pilot program for cross-border wealth management platform operation, supporting eligible financial institutions to apply for the pilot program qualifications of cross-border wealth management platform, and encouraging mature pilot financial institutions to add new overseas cooperative banks.
