The National Healthcare Security Administration (“the authorities”) issued the “Notice in relation to ‘Interim Administrative Measures for Disease-Specific Payment in Medical Security’” (“the Notice”) on 11 August 2025. The authorities proposed that the main reform of medical insurance payment method will be based on disease-specific payments. Disease groupings will be regularly adjusted in accordance with objective data, clinical characteristics, policy changes, and other factors. In general, disease groupings will be adjusted every two years and published by the end of July of that year.
