The Management Centre of Housing Provident Fund of Guangzhou Municipality (“the authorities”) issued the “Notice in relation to Implementation Measures (Interim) for the Conversion of Commercial Individual Housing Loans to Individual Housing Loans from Housing Provident Fund in Guangzhou Municipality” (“the Notice”) on 20 August 2025. The authorities proposed that that borrowers who have contributed to the housing provident fund in Guangzhou Municipality for a cumulative total of 60 months or more, used commercial loans to purchase self-occupied residence within Guangzhou Municipality, and are owners of the properties, are eligible to apply for converting the outstanding commercial loan balance into individual housing provident fund loan. The Notice is effective for 3 years.
