Higher Education Collaboration Projects
Home to five of the top-100 universities worldwide and being highly internationalised, Hong Kong can nurture talents for the development of the Greater Bay Area and the country. The HKSAR Government will continue to fully complement the “Development Plan for Driving Higher Education Collaboration in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” promulgated in late 2020 by the Ministry of Education and the Guangdong Provincial Government and support our post-secondary education institutions in offering education services in the Mainland cities of the GBA.  At present, the Hong Kong Baptist University, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the City University of Hong Kong have set up campuses in Zhuhai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Dongguan respectively to offer undergraduate programmes or postgraduate programmes in different disciplines.  The HKSAR Government will continue to actively encourage the tertiary institutions in Hong Kong to explore more flexible and innovative modes of operation in the Mainland cities of the GBA, to promote closer co-operation between their campuses in Hong Kong and in the Mainland cities of the GBA so as to facilitate the mobility of staff and students with a view to nurturing talents required for the development of our country.
