The Airport Authority Hong Kong set up the Hong Kong International Aviation Academy (HKIAA) in 2016. Since its establishment, HKIAA has provided different levels of training courses to nearly 340 000 students from the GBA and other parts of the Mainland. To nurture more young people to join the aviation industry and foster the development of the aviation industry in Hong Kong, other parts of the GBA and the Mainland as a whole, HKIAA has, in collaboration with relevant Mainland aviation-training institutions, launched the GBA Youth Aviation Industry Internship Programme, placing young people to Hong Kong International Airport and other airports in the GBA for internship.
