The Airport Authority Hong Kong is pressing ahead in full steam with the innovative development of “sea-air” intermodal cargo transshipment mode in collaboration with Dongguan, such that export cargo from the Mainland can go through upstream aviation security screening and cargo acceptance before being seamlessly transported to Hong Kong International Airport for direct transshipment overseas. International air cargo may also be imported into the Mainland vice versa. This mode provides a more seamless and convenient international air network for the cargo in the GBA, and enhances the efficiency of cargo transshipment.
