The Single E-lock Scheme (SELS) streamlines procedures and expedites cargo transhipment across the land boundary between Hong Kong and the Mainland by an electronic lock and satellite-based tracking system. Duplicate inspection of the same consignment can be reduced. Currently, there are over 60 clearance points in Guangdong covering eight Mainland municipalities in the GBA. Together with the four clearance points in Hunan province, six in Fujian province, four in Macao and 13 in Hong Kong, SELS offers over 1 000 route options for the logistics industry.
