The Bureau of Commerce of Nansha Economic and Technological Development Zone has issued a notice on revising the implementation rules for promoting the development of artificial intelligence industry in Nansha New District of Guangzhou (free trade zone) on 1 November 2019. The notice proposes a number of subsidies and financial incentives to support the artificial intelligence industry, including the opening of incentives, research and construction subsidies, R&D investment subsidies, rent and purchase of office property subsidies, talent awards, economic contribution awards, financial support, technical support awards and application promotion awards. The notice specifies the conditions for application and the procedures for the application for redemption of rewards, supervision and inspection. These regulations came into force on 1 November 2019 and shall be valid until 31 December 2021.
