The People's Government of Dongguan issued the “Implementation Measures for Compulsory Education for Non-Household-Registered School-Aged Children in Dongguan” (“the Implementation Measures”) on 14 April 2020. Parents with household registration in Hong Kong or Macao and have Residence Permits or Residence Permit Collection Certificates in Dongguan may enrol for public or private schools in Dongguan for their children. Successful applicants may receive equal treatment as local students with household registration in Dongguan. Children studying in private schools may receive government subsidies. The Implementation Measures will take effect from 18 May 2020 and is valid until 18 May 2022.
