On 23 May 2023, the General Affairs Office of the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government issued the “Action Plan of Financial Support for High-quality Development of the Real Economy in the Guangzhou Municipality” (“the Plan”). The Plan focuses on key projects and accelerating the construction of key financial platforms and institutions. Specific policies of the Plan include full support for the interactive development of the Guangzhou Future Exchange, the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, continuously promoting the construction of cross-border wealth management and capital management centres in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (“GBA”) and accelerating the establishment of an international commercial bank in the GBA.
