On 13 May 2022, the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province and the Department of Finance of Guangdong Province issued the “Administrative Measures for Performance Appraisal of Provincial Science and Technology Plans (Interim)” (“the Measures”). The Measures proposed to gather innovation resources in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (“GBA”), develop a science and technology evaluation community with participation from various enterprise, create an innovation ecology in the GBA in order to attract high-level experts from leading science and technology enterprises and Hong Kong and Macau involve in the performance evaluation and consultation of provincial science and technology plans. The Measures will come into effect on 1 September 2023.
