The Foshan Municipal Housing and Urban-rural Development Bureau (“the authorities”) issued the “Notice in relation to Further Optimize the Application Process of Housing Purchase Qualification for Hong Kong and Macao Residents” (“the Notice”) on 21 July 2023. The authorities announced for the economic and social development of Hong Kong and Macao, as well as to facilitate and create convenience for Hong Kong and Macao residents in the Mainland, current Hong and Macao residents, who purchase housing in Foshan Municipality by providing a written commitment for self-use and self-residency, will qualify for housing purchase, exempt from providing proof of local residency, study or work experience, and individual income tax and social security requirements. This notice shall be effective from 21 July 2023.
