The Civil Affairs Bureau of Guangzhou Municipality and Ministry of Finance (“the authorities”) issued the “Revised Implementation of Funding Measures for Private Elderly Care Service Institutions in Guangzhou Municipality” (“the Measures”) on 4 August 2023. The authorities announced the proposed revision to maintain the four existing subsidies and subsidy standards regarding new bed subsidy, nursing care subsidy, medical and elderly care integrated subsidy and grading assessment subsidy, including private elderly care institutions that have self-owned property and meet relevant conditions to receive a subsidy of RMB15,000 per bed. Private elderly care institutions that qualify for designated medical insurance shall be eligible for a one-off subsidy of RMB200,000.
