The General Affairs Office of People's Government of Guangdong Province (“the authorities”) issued the “Notice in relation to Employment Optimisation and Stabilization Policies and Measures to Promote Development and Facilitate People's Livelihood” (“the Notice”) on 11 August 2023. The authorities announced that starting from 1 January 2023, enterprises that sign labour contracts with recent college graduates and graduates that have not been employed for 2 years from the year of leaving school, also paying unemployment, work injury, and employee pension insurance premiums for at least one month, shall be eligible for a one-off employment subsidy or one-off job expansion subsidy. The subsidies shall be granted at RMB 1,000 per employed person. The implementation period is up to 31 December 2023.
