On 10 November 2023, the Science and Technology Bureau of Jiangmen Municipality issued the “Implementation Plan for Developing Technology-Enabled Counties, Towns and Villages and Promoting Coordinated Development of Urban and Rural Regions in Jiangmen Municipality” (“the Plan”). The Plan proposed to actively support the development strategy of Hong Kong’s Northern Metropolis, facilitate the construction of a Hong Kong-Jiangmen cooperative special industrial park – known as the Hong Kong Green Industry Belt, and deepen scientific and technological cooperation with universities and scientific research institutes in Hong Kong. In addition, the Plan aimed to introduce pilot testing and transformation of innovative achievements made by Hong Kong and facilitate the development of new economic and industrial advantages in Taishan Municipality.
