On 13 November 2023, the Office of the People’s Government of Liwan District of Guangzhou Municipality issued the “Various Measures for Promoting Innovative Development of Pharmaceutical Industry in Liwan District of Guangzhou Municipality” (“the Measures”). The Measures proposed to guide the cluster of pharmaceutical industry resources, specifically including accelerating the construction of a comprehensive pharmaceutical and health pilot zone in Liwan District and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and focusing on constructing an “island and a port” pharmaceutical industry development cluster. In addition, the Measures aimed to develop a pharmaceutical industrial park in the Hailongwei science and technology innovation area to gather the pharmaceutical enterprises and innovation resources. The Measures will come into force on 13 November 2023 and remain valid for 3 years.
